Everything about Screem totally explained

SCREEM (Site CReating and Editing EnvironMent), is both an HTML editor and XML editor for Linux and UNIX designed for use with the GNOME Desktop Environment.
Rather than being a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor like Adobe Dreamweaver, it's designed to be a WYSIWYM (What You See Is What You Mean) editor enabling finer control over the HTML being created. It features previewing open documents in any installed web browser and a feature called "Intelliclose" which is a way of automatically closing HTML tags. SCREEM also supports Dreamweaver templates and has a good number of wizards to help with the addition of multimedia content.
Unfortunately, this project is no longer being actively developed as of 2005.
